About Us
A Legacy Forged in Gold, Perfected Through Generations
For over a century, the art of Kundan craftsmanship has flowed through our family like molten gold, shaping not just jewelry, but destinies. At Riya Soni Kundan House, we don't just create ornaments – we preserve heritage, one masterpiece at a time.
From Humble Beginnings to Royal Traditions
Our journey began in the early 1900s when Shri Ghisilal Ji, Riya's great-grandfather, first picked up the goldsmith's tools. With skilled hands and an artist's vision, he established the foundation of what would become a four-generation legacy.

Meet Riya Soni
Riya Soni represents the fourth generation of this illustrious legacy. Growing up surrounded by the gentle sounds of goldsmithing – the soft hammering, the careful setting of stones, the whispered conversations about design – she naturally gravitated toward the family craft.
Under her father's patient guidance, Riya learned not just the technical aspects of jewelry making, but the soul of the craft itself. She understood that each piece tells a story, carries emotions, and becomes part of someone's most precious moments.
What sets Riya apart is her ability to honor tradition while embracing innovation. She has worked tirelessly to promote Kundan jewelry across India, introducing this ancient art form to new generations while maintaining the authenticity that makes it truly special.

The Five Sacred Steps of Kundan Creation

Ghaat
Framework CreationOur master craftsmen begin by creating a delicate framework using thin gold strips, shaped meticulously to match the desired design. This foundation determines the soul of the final piece.

Paadh
The FoundationThe framework is filled with lac (natural wax) or resin, and the surface is sculpted according to the design. Uncut, shaped, and polished gemstones are carefully placed, each one chosen for its unique character.

Pakai
Securing the TreasureGold foils are used to securely embrace each gemstone, ensuring not just stability but enhancing the stone's natural brilliance. This step requires generations of inherited skill.

Chillai
The TransformationThrough careful polishing, each piece achieves its brilliant shine. This is where the jewelry truly comes alive, reflecting light and capturing hearts.

Poovai
The Final GraceHanging beads and decorative elements are added, creating movement and music in the jewelry. These finishing touches add the flowing, fluid effects that make each piece dance with life.
Nature's Green Treasures
Our expertise extends beyond Kundan to the mystical world of Zambian Emerald Beads. These precious green gemstones from the beryl family get their distinctive color from trace amounts of chromium or vanadium.
The Journey of an Emerald Bead

Sawing
Large stones are carefully divided into workable pieces, revealing their raw potential.

Grinding
Each piece is meticulously refined and shaped to create the desired bead form, enhancing its natural beauty.

Faceting
An optional yet transformative process to enhance brilliance and sparkle, bringing out the gem's inner fire.

Polishing
Surfaces are smoothed to crystal clarity, achieving a mirror-like finish that reflects light exquisitely.

Drilling
Precise holes are created for stringing, ensuring the bead's integrity is maintained for lasting designs.

Quality Control
Every bead undergoes rigorous inspection for color, clarity, and perfection, guaranteeing unparalleled quality.
